For the past 10 years, Drummondville has been one of Québec’s most economically vibrant cities (named city of the year in 2001 by Commerce magazine). Often called Québec’s small business capital, Drummondville numbers over 500 manufacturers.

This vitality is also felt in the tourism industry, as clearly demonstrated by the city’s international caliber attractions, numerous shows, and awards it has won in recent years: Gold in the 2003 Québec Grand Prix of Tourism Awards (“Tourism Business” category) and two Coup d’éclat Awards (2001 and 2002) from Société des attractions touristiques du Québec.

With over 2,500 volunteers to help stage its events each  summer—a participation rate unequalled in Québec— the success of the city's tourism is largely attributable toits residents.
