A free charging station for electric cars at the Baluchon Eco Resort

A free charging station for electric cars at the Baluchon Eco Resort

June 26, 2017

Already recognised a leader since their opening in 1990, the Baluchon Eco Resort remains a visionary by following through with its sustainable development policy adopted in 2010.

National winner of the Sustainable Tourism prize in the context of the Grands Prix du Tourisme Québécois in 2010, the Baluchon is recognised for its concrete actions for sustainable development. Green Key program, recycling, no motorised activities on the site, biodegradable maintenance products, water treatment, energy management, agroforestry projects, local producers highlighting the menus, access to a medical clinic for employees, a showcase of local talents with the river theatre, promotion of history in the décor of the Eco-Café Au Bout du Monde – these are only some of the concrete practices developed in the context of the company's sustainable vision.

The installation of a charging station is naturally part of the ecological choices made by the Baluchon.

A major program of room renovations already taking place is based on "slow-design", meaning the use of objects giving them a second life in an artistic concept. There is nothing surprising in seeing a 100-year-old lightning rod, taken from the maison Boucher, which gives an original look to the station by integrating it into its surroundings.

Two important partners supported the process for installing the station: Éco-Route Québec and Roulezélectrique.com
